  Mingling Melodies and Motors will Feature The Fabulons

   

  Meet me at the malt shop for a cherry coke! Put on your bobby socks and poodle skirt and visit a by-gone era while experiencing the joy of bringing hope to the homeless and hungry right here in our own backyard. Mingling Melodies & Motors is a ‘50s and ‘60s classic car show and concert featuring the music of The Fabulons. The event will take place Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 1pm-4:30pm on the beautiful lakeside grounds of The Chapel of Saint Andrew in Boca Raton. Cars will be shown by the Antique Automobile Club of America.

   

  Hosted by the members of the Chapel of St. Andrew, funds raised will benefit the work of four charities including Family Promise, Boca Helping Hands, ECHO and Cross International.

   

  “All of these charities are committed to bettering the lives of those in greatest human need,” said event chairman Victoria Meredith. “The Chapel of Saint Andrew is committed to outreach and mission both locally and internationally and we are excited to be a part of such a thriving Christian community,” she said.

   

  The Fabulons  have been the opening act for numerous R & R legends, including The Temptations, Dion, Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons, Grand Funk Railroad, The Grassroots, Lou Christie, The Rascals, Peter Noone (Herman’s Hermit’s). They have also been featured in concert at Mizner Park and Sanborne Square.

  Sponsorships and advertising opportunities are available for this fabulous and fun afternoon. Tickets are $20 Adults, $10 Youth 7-14, kids age 6 and under are free.   This is not your usual concert and there will be a variety of music genres ranging from spirituals to Hebrew songs; from praise bands to chancel choirs, organ music and traditional choirs The music director for this interfaith concert of singing, music and more is Cantor Steven Hevenston, B’nai Torah Congregation, Boca Raton and the MCs will be comedian Lauren Pottinger and actor Bradley Barfield.  All proceeds go to Family Promise of South Palm Beach County, a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization.
